Snookered
Basic drama technique. A short story (3 mins) in which Leo’s
girlfriend also appears to be fixing a date with his best mate.
10 minutes of rushes are provided in order to cut together the three
short scenes. Requires basic cutting skills.
Fire Station
Basic documentary technique. The Redhill firemen simulate a fire
call-out. A good starting exercise requiring basic cutting skills
and a good sense of pace. 15 minutes of rushes are provided and
two 30-second edited versions.
Frostbite
A complete short story (6 minutes). A woodland fantasy complete
with witch and magic spells. The sound effects, music and special
effects sequences are all supplied in the rushes (30 minutes of
video and 10 minutes of sound and music). A more substantial but
rewarding experience for the editor. The making of Frostbite is
featured in another ViT programme: “Successful Low Budget
Drama for Video”
